4 Plumbing and HVAC Products We’re Excited to See at CES 2025

Each January, Las Vegas transforms from the entertainment capital of the world into the tech capital of the world with the arrival of CES. Formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show, this convention is a showcase of all things shiny and brand-new to the consumer technology industry, with over 150,000 attendees and 4,500 exhibitors in categories like artificial intelligence, robotics, automotive innovations and — our favorite — smart home technology.

CES 2025 kicks off tomorrow and runs through Friday. The HomeServe Editorial team is on site, bringing you the inside scoop at what purports to be the largest showcase of consumer technology in the world. We’ll be reporting on everything from hot new trends in smart ovens to the robotic lawnmowers that are a cut above the rest.

Before the show kicks off tomorrow, we thought we’d let you in on the top tech we’re looking forward to seeing on the show floor. These are the smart home products and appliances we’re keeping our eye on in 2025 — and you should be, too.

Hydrific Droplet Water Monitor

Water damage really is no joke. According to FEMA, just 1 inch of standing water in your home can cause $25,000 of damage. But even leaks that don’t cause water damage (like drippy faucets and running toilets) can waterlog your monthly utility bill.

The Hydrific Droplet, a smart water sensor, can give homeowners insight into what’s going on inside their water pipes. The device offers real-time tracking of your water usage, so you don’t have to wait until your water bill arrives to have an idea of your usage.

The device — which was celebrated as a CES 2025 Innovation Awards Honoree — clamps on to your home’s water inlet pipe (no drilling required) and captures high-precision data about your water usage up to 50 times per second. All that information is distilled into homeowner-friendly takeaways on a connected app, which uses AI to analyze water usage. It can help detect leaks, warn you about overconsumption, alert you to weird patterns or let you know you’re using water inefficiently.

AirShifter Smart Ceiling Fan

Another Innovation Awards Honoree, the AirShifter by Proxgy offers a smart way to cool off. The AirShifter is a smart ceiling fan that senses the airflow needs of a given room based on its size and layout, then adjusts accordingly. The sensor uses LiDAR (light detection and ranging) technology to get a read of your room in order to cool it. Multiple AirShifters can work in conjunction to provide a similar effect in larger rooms. It comes equipped with a HEPA filter and a UV light, which can help purify the air in the room while it spins.

While not much has been revealed about this product ahead of CES, this one is definitely on our radar (or LiDAR, if you prefer).

NanoWasala Shower Head Attachment

At CES’s media kickoff event, CES Unveiled, we got to see a demo of a product called the Nano Basara by Japanese company NanoWasala. The Nano Basara is a small device that attaches onto your existing shower head to produce something called “nanobubbles,” which are ultra-fine bubbles that are less than 0.001 millimeters in size. According to NanoWasala, bubbles this small can more easily penetrate your pores, clearing out makeup and other residue that can cause issues like acne.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Nano Basara is currently only available in Japan. But, we’re still interested to learn more about how this seemingly easy-to-install technology works.

Flic Duo

Control over your home — at the push of a button. That’s the kind of dream many homeowners hope smart home tech will make a reality. Well, the Flic Duo smart button may help you push your home into the future.

Swedish company Flic invented the smart button, and the Flic Duo is their latest entry into the space. The Duo lets you become the conductor of your smart home orchestra. With intuitive button presses and gestures you can customize, you can use it as a button on a wall or like a baton to direct your smart speakers, lights, blinds and other tech.

Designed with safety in mind, the Flic Duo can also operate as a personal alarm button, and it has fall-detection capabilities.

The Flic Duo will ship in the second quarter of this year, with pre-orders shipping later this month.
