You had one job to do!” Due to dirt, debris, displacement or damage, over time, the simple act of opening the door to your patio or balcony could equate to a Crossfit-worthy workout. 1. Vac the Track!

Suck out all that friction-fostering detritus using a vacuum cleaner attachment, then run a brush over stubborn grime, clean it with a damp utility rag, then wipe it dry with a microfiber cloth.

2. Let There be Lube!

Spray a silicone-based lubricant evenly and thoroughly across the track while working it in by sliding the door back and forth.

Be sure to use a silicone- or graphite- based lube versus a petroleum-based one to avoid gumming up the works with accumulated dust and dirt that mixes with the viscous substance.

3. Where There’s a Wheel, There’s a Way!

You can typically adjust out-of-whack wheels by raising them up or down using a screwdriver.

Remove the plastic plugs.
Turn clockwise to raise the wheels…
…and counterclockwise to lower them.
Adjust, test, then readjust as necessary until even and easy.

4. Don’t Get Bent Outta Shape!

If none of these measures gets things moving smoothly, you may have a bent track.

You could try bending it back into place with pliers if the misalignment is minimal, but at this point you may wanna call a pro.

Or, you may just be a bit of a wuss in need of a gym, so at this point you may wanna … CALL A BRO!
